KOUP

I love J. He is honest, compassionate, hard working, funny, loving, a wonderful father and husband. That being said, he is also "The King of Useless Projects." (KOUP). God love him, we have a hundred projects around here that need to be done, not to mention laundry, toilet scrubbing or floor washing. However, throughout our lives together he chooses the goofiest, least useful project at the most inopportune time.

Here's a history:
1. The time he decided to paint the TOP of the washing machine and dryer.
2. We were expecting weekend guests and he decided that he needed to paint the basement floor.
3. Clean out the gutters of a two story house in the middle of a windstorm.
4. Installed ceiling fans on the third floor in November.
5. Painted the third floor (every night when I wanted to have help with the kids)
6. Chainsawing a broken refrigerator in the basement.
and the most recent:
7. Installing outdoor stereo speakers when it is both freezing and snowing.

It's not that these projects are completely useless, with the exception on #1 & #2, the timing just doesn't make sense. There is snow and the ground and he is spending the majority of the day installing speakers that we won't be able to use for four months. WHY? WHY? WHY? Then he'll complain about being really tired. HMMM, wonder why?

I'm very thankful that he is so handy, however I still have fences that we have had to put pieces of wood and planters in front of in order to keep the dog from getting out. I think that is the project I asked for when we moved in two years ago. You can see how that is not as important as stereo speakers or ceiling fans.

I guess why this is bringing up such frustration for me is pretty selfish. While he was installing these goofy speakers, my order from Steak n Shake was sitting at the restaurant getting cold.
