I am not referring to the fact that I haven't showered today. I fixed my car. Due to my automatic car starter, my fog lights will not go off. This caused some problems last week when I was at school, getting ready to start my class and was standing in the frigid cold turning my car on and off. Luckily I was able to see inside my classroom and watch my students watching me. Nothing like giving a feeling of confidence to my charges.
Well, the problem has continued. So I took matters into my own hands. I popped the hood and went fishing. I know nothing about cars, so it was a little dangerous. (I did turn the car off). As I am hanging my ass out, digging through, a few of my kindly neighbors stopped by. Not to offer any assistance rather to have a chat about how the car companies are sticking it to the little guy. "No one can fix their own car anymore. You gotta take it to the dealer where they charge you $80 just to walk in the door. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH." Thanks Gramps, but if you ain't helpin you best be movin along.
They stood there for about 15 minutes. Did I mention that it is friggin cold outside? Finally they got bored watching me and went on their way. I finally located the fuse box and just started pulling things out. My hands were cramping because it is so cold. Luckily, I was doing some smart thinking and put the fuses that I pulled out in the grass and in no particular order. Once I pulled all the fuses out, I realized that I had not watched to see which one controlled the fog lights. I was then digging around on the ground trying to find the fuses. They kind of blend in with the grass. I may have been cursing to myself at this time. At this point, a GM from A.'s school drove by. Did she offer to help? NOPE. She just waved. Thanks BITCH!
Eventually I found all the fuses and followed the color coded fuse box label and was able to reconnect everything. (I think) I located the perpetrator and put it safely in my pocket. My car didn't blow up and the hood did not fall on my head. J. will be so proud. Maybe I have a new career path.
